Larger ellipse for wall of cage. Applied outer glow (changed to multiply for shadowing effect), inner shadow, and stroke to create shading and edging.

Cage bars are simple rectangles with bevel/emboss applied

For door, straight lines rasterized, erased to cut, and moved slightly for some irregularity.

Door frame made with pen tool for curvature, fill set to 0%, stroke and stroke bevel applied.

Feather edges flared / repaired with smudge, duplicated, then warped to change shape.

Feather shadows simple ellipse set below, slight Gaussian blur applied

Perch started as rectangle (didn't get screen shot). Render, fibers, using two brownish colors. Perspective applied. Dodge and burn for shadow and light.

For shadow, perch layer duplicated, dark brown color overlay, cut appart at cage wall/floor. Wall piece rotated and darkened and fit to floor piece. Gaussian blur applied to both pieces.

Little bird seeds are circles, with bevel and emboss applied, contour applied, drop shadow, and pattern overlay. Pattern chosen was "dirt" to give a grainy appearance.
