Begin with cropping part of the background original image.

Add a gaussian blur.

Clone left part of image to make the horizon the same level.

Duplicate layer and set layer to overly.

Merge layer and Add another gaussian blur.

Duplicate layer again and again set layer to overlay.

With guide from reference, start to sketch angel....

Add base colour... and using smudge tool, smudge to mix colours.

Continue adding more detail.

Close up on face, smooth out colour and add some detail to eyes, highlights and shadows using, dodge tools...

Smooth the edges...

Using pen tool, cut out the pot thingy and copy it to your image.

Using the "twist" tool found in your filters, twist pot thingy and start creating the hair.

Create the trumpet and warp to get correct place.

Continue to twist and warp the hair into place.

Isolate the trumpet from the hand by selecting the angel and deleting the rest.

Smooth the trumpet and hand..

Finish off the hair, delete any random pieces of pot thingy that are protruding.

Create the harp by twisting original pot thingy and warping. Create the harp string by transforming the harp and making a thin string, duplicate and group, warp into place.

Warp into place.

Draw the thumb and place ontop of harp...blend into skin...

Smooth the edges by selecting them with the pen tool and delete unwanted bits... do this to the whole angel...

Add shadows on new layer and set layer to 50%multiply and blur the shadows slightly...

warp pot thingy and erase the edge legs popping out to create the wing...

Create wings by duplicating the 1st wing, add into place using reference...add highlights.

From original source image, copy part of the sand background and paste to your image, duplicate .

Blur

Change the levels to make the sand kinda white.. then using smudge tool fluff out the edges....

Transform cloud smaller and place on the edge..duplicate 2 more times...

Set cloud layer to hard light to make it more cloud-like :)

Use the sand part copied from source image, add gaussian blur and place it at bottom of image...

Warp into place...

In a new file... copy full image, place and duplicate, add overlay 40% to create more vibrancy! yay FINISHED! :)
