A Work in Progress: Lonely Road

First I started with a few color adjustments, changing the foreground and background mountains different hues.

Next I cut out the original sky, and replaced it with a background color. This layer has no blend mode effects.

I used this image as a replacement for the Martian sky.

Ive set the image blend mode to hard light, and had to use the clone stamp tool to make the image fill the entire gap of the skyline.

O.K. theres quite a bit going on in this step.
First, Ive hidden the previous layer, and did some airbrushing to add a nice color effect to the sky. Also, the rover has been added, rendered, and flipped. Also, I started to add a shadow for the rover.

I added the Hubble image back in for the sky, resized and did some color adjustments to the rover.

To the final result:
I added a new layer, set to overlay, and airbrushed some yellow, and orange over the landscape (for highlight).
Finally, i duplicated the rover, and set it to 65% opacity with an overlay blend mode.
