These are the two photos I started with. On the left is my dog and on the right is my left hand

Using a mask layer I "removed" everything I didn't want to use, including the screen on the phone.

I simply reduced the size of the dog photo to make it fit in the little screen and gave it a slight blur.
The dog gets clearer as the pictures get smaller by half the blur value each time.
Conversely, the had gets clearer the larger the picture by the same half value.
The end result has a tiny dog that's clear and a huge hand that's clear.
