Hair, glasses added. Expression tweaked.

step 3 of 5

Ink outline completed, shading started.

Skin shading done by layering lighter tones over darker tones- shadowed areas filled in first.

step 4 of 5

Skin shading completed using 3 colors- darkest shadow, mid-tone, 2 layers of lightest shade to blend.

Hair shading started- using mid-tone, followed direction of hair using thin strokes.

Continued with hair coloring, always following direction of hair naturally. Darker tones used heavier on shadowed side of head, lighter tones used more in highlighted areas. Yellow and orange added. Many layers of color.

Final step- glasses lens area shaded in with pale color to simulate glass.
