A Work in Progress: In the Red Lake

I started my project with the source file of this contest which is a red lake.

Open a new document and fill the background layer with black. Then using ellipce tool create a circle. Using a white foreground to transparent color make a gradient. Then use dodge tool to highlight the white areas and you will get a moon like effect.

I open my image and cut it with the pen tool.

Then I applied some color balance effects and some levels adjustment to get this. I even adjusted the brush in the brush pallet to make a twinkling effect.

After adjusting some more I got my desired color to blend with the background.

Then use your pen tool create few lines. After that create a new layer and choose stroke path. I even adjusted some more color to get a blue effect to our Image.

The repeat same step but this time change the brush scattering settings.

Add a new layer and select soft white brush. Then go to the brushes pallet and change the scattering seting and shape dynamis settings to get a twinkle effect brush. Paint it the way you want and finally add an outer glow to that layer. And your done. ENJOY!!!!
