I decided I should upload something to show I did the work, so since you know how to make an apple because there is a link to the tutorial I decided I should mention how to make the heart in case someone would like to know.

First go to "Custom Shape Tool" and pick you shape, in this case it's a heart.
Then go to "Brush Tool" and click on the heart, it will tell you "This shape layer must be rasterized before proceeding. Rasterize the shape? - you will click "OK". Now the heart should be a normal layer.

I'm using the stripe background just to show you when the heart becomes see through.
Next click on the heart layer. Go to "Blending Options" - "Bevel and Emboss".
I chose these setting for this heart, but you should play around, lots of possibilities.
Style - Inner Bevel
Technique - Smooth
Depth - 280
Direction - up
Size - 70px
Soften - 16px
And all the other settings as they were.
Now press Ok.
Next click on the heart layer. Go to "Blending Options" - "Bevel and Emboss".

Now go to layers blending mode and set it to your liking, here it's set to "Multiply".

If you want the heart to be clear without color, just set the heart layer to 0% in the "Fill" box. And that's about it my friends. Happy Valentines Day.
