step 1 of 11

Throughout most of my barricade removal, I used polygonal lasso tool to select sections of the image similar to what needed to be laid over the barricade to make it disappear.

step 2 of 11

Once again, I repeat the same steps selection sections of the source image to manipulate the background, I used free transform a lot to mold shapes into the necessary cover up.

step 5 of 11

I used clone stamp a lot and sectioned areas that needed texture placement, for better blend. It's what I mainly used to clone out the barricade.

step 6 of 11

I repeated the same steps, making a new layer, putting it into place, then I merge the layers.

Merging layers like this makes your file size smaller when you are making multiple layers.

I now have half a barricade.

I then select similar parts of the sidewalk and brick patterns to cover up where the barricade is.

step 10 of 11

I use Free Transform/distort a lot to get the right perspectives when moving one hexagon to the other, since they are of a different distance, they would appear differently. Liquefy is also used for touch ups to mold our pieces to the background perfectly.

step 11 of 11

The last steps were simply the same steps, over and over again. Select a section that's similar, copy and paste the layer, mold it to fit, merge layers, clone stamp, healing brush, burn, blur.
