A Work in Progress: Flashy bubbles

step 1 of 6

items used to make flash ring:
1 plastic mixing bowl
1 plastic flower pot
aluminium foil
spray adhesive
external flash
and a few other items not shown:
duck tape
cardboard
white material

A hole was cut in the bottom of the plastic mixing bowl big enough to fit the lense through. Inside of the bowl was then sprayed with the spray adhesive and foil strips were glued onto the inside of the bowl.

Bottom of the flower pot was cut off and the outside was sprayed with the adhesive and foil was glue to the outside. flower pot was then stuck into the mixing bowl using duck tape.

A hole the size of the end of the flash was cut into the mixing bowl and a cardboard extension was made to fit the flash to the mixing bowl allowing the flash to be mounted on the hot shoe. the front of the bowl and flower pot was then covered in white material which was held in place by duck tape. The material was cut in the middle and folded down and stuck to the inside of the flower pot using duck tape.

the flash ring was then pushed onto the lense on my camera and was ready for a trial run
