After accomplishing the video tutorial, and looking it over. To me it looked far to linear. So I decided to take the focus off the roads on the left, and the water and town on the right. I used a size 200 soft brush on the layer mask. To make it for only that part of the land was showing. Carefully using different sizes of the soft brush, used to fade the land in the backdrop into the blur zone.

Below I added Color Burn so you can see where my layer mask is exactly. Because the river was so wide. Half of the right side of it was left untouched, for landscape pop.

NOTE: I personally could not get the lens blur to work as in the tutorial. So I did use a Gausian blur instead.
