step 1 of 18

On a white canvas, I used a fairly soft brush and drew an outline

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 1

step 2 of 18

With a large fairly soft brush, I colored in the rest of the area

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 2

step 3 of 18

I didn't like the color, so I went over that color with a new color

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 3

step 4 of 18

I drew an outline for "eyeliner" with a fairly soft brush in a dark gray

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 4

step 5 of 18

I erased a bit of the dark gray and then made a new layer and added the blue with a brush at about 80% hardness. NO shapes were used at all for this whole picture because it is against the rules.

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 5

step 6 of 18

On another layer, I added the black with a brush at about 80% hardness also.

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 6

step 7 of 18

With a square brush at very low density and a lighter color, I added a bit of depth to the black

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 7

step 8 of 18

On the blue layer, I used a low density brush at different blue tones and drew lines inward toward the black

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 8

step 9 of 18

I then changed my color and brush shape to white and added the low density color to the eye

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 9

step 10 of 18

I then used a soften brush to soften the dense dots I just put on the eye. This is not a filter or a gaussion blur; this is a retouch tool which has "soften, smudge, push, etc"

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 10

step 11 of 18

Using the eraser brush at a very low density, I erased some of the black around the edges

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 11

step 12 of 18

I added the glint on a new layer with a 80% soft brush and added a slight reflection with a soft low opacity brush and used the retouch tool to soften it.
I smudged some of the face color into the whites of the eyes and then added a bit of white in the corner to give the eye some depth

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 12

step 13 of 18

On a new layer, I started to draw the lashes with a size 1 brush

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 13

step 14 of 18

I went to a size 2 brush and added more lashes

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 14

step 15 of 18

After adding the lashes, I used the soften retouch tool and then added a bit of color on the corner of the eye and underneath, I tried to give some "wrinkles" so to speak (which is very subtle) by drawing lines of a slightly lighter color than the face color

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 15

step 16 of 18

With a big soft brush, I added purple eyeshadow to the upper eye and then added an eyebrow by painting a soft plain brush in a brownish color at low opacity and then at full opacity at a size 1 and 2, added the hairs like I did the lashes.

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 16

step 17 of 18

I added more hair to the brow and then used the retouch tool to soften them

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 17

step 18 of 18

Using a very soft large brush at very low opacity, I added a bit of lightness to underneath the eye

Creation of Blue Eyes: Step 18
