I took this photo. I took this during a photoshoot for a DJ in Pittsburgh, to use on her website. I will gladly give you her website as soon as the contest is over because on her site is a link to my site and that would give away my identity and these contests are supposed to be anonymous.

In this step I simple masked out what I no longer wanted in the image.

I added a black background here along with a glow coming out from behind the DJ

Here I used a stroke path to create a streak of light weaving around the person in the image.

In this step I gave the streak of light a glow using blending options.

Here I made the streaks of light more intense and I also added dust and faint streaks of light to add some movement.

In this step I used the splatter brushes that I downloaded from this URL: http://www.bittbox.com/freebies/free-hi-res-splatter-photoshop-brushes

I then added some glowing effect to the splatters in the same manner that I added glow effect to the streak of light.

Here I added a little background using the gradient overlay option in the blending options.
