Started with light yellow to dark yellow gradient

using soft eraser I made the image an uneven fit, added some burn to create more shadow

made rough selection using pen tool and filled with light yellow, used dodge tool to add highlights

with freehand soft brush I roughly painted the edge of the cup

set that layer to 40% opacity
step 6 of 17
painted on the same yellow with soft brush onto the knife
step 7 of 17
made selection using pen tool of what I thought was a good scrape shape

used dodge tool along the top edges to add highlight
step 9 of 17
then burn tool to add depth and shadow
step 10 of 17
used selection of external source and resized
step 11 of 17
used liquify to distort image to shape, used eraser on any harsh edges
step 12 of 17
added same image (resized) to the knife handle
step 13 of 17
added a little blur and reduced opacity to 50%
step 14 of 17
went back to the knife and used very small smudge brush to indent the butter, added subtle highlights with dodge tool
step 15 of 17
made a deep dark yellow selection over the bottle
step 16 of 17
I then copied the layer resized smaller, coppied again and resized smaller each narrowing into the centre of the bottle

set all 3 selections to "overlay" to give a cloudy oil effect
