Started with a black background, then added some stars using soft brushes of various sizes, then blurred the layer.

Opened Source Image, then selected 3D>New Shape from Layer>Sphere. Then used 3D scale and rotate tools to get the look I wanted.

Dragged the Sphere into my background, converted it to a smart object, then added an inner glow effect to give it a slight light halo around its edges.

Added two different shadows (each on its own layer) . One broad, and one sharper. Adjusted opacity.

Used a large, soft brush, and painted a white "dot" for the sun. Then drew one thin line across frame for the flare. Then added a layer mask and using a black-to-transparent gradient, faded the flare near the edges.

Used Quick Selection Tool to isolate a leaf, then copied it onto its own layer
step 7 of 8
Copied and transformed the leaf. Added a white "dot" for the body of the satellite.

Added a layer style to the leaves. Added two small antennae, and copied the same layer style to that layer. That's it!
