step 1 of 8

The body started out as a cube with 2 subdivisions all round. This was placed in a hypernurb object which smoothed all edges. I then moulded the shape by pushing, pulling, extruding.
This is the shape taken out of the hypernurb object to see the extend of the shaping.

The wheel was the first thing I modelled. The tyre, mag and disc started out as tubes. The mag tube had 36 segments. I made a selection of 9 of the inside faces at an equal distance apart and extruded to form the spokes. The forks were done in a similar way, I selected 2 outside faces and extruded outward then placed inside a hypernurb object for smoothing. I used the same forks for the rear. The front lights are oiltank shapes the top of which is used as the lens.

Again the disc brakes started as a tube. I removed some of the faces inside to form spokes. The slots around were created with a rounded cube which was copied and rotated, then placed in a boole object with the disc. The brake pads are just cylinders.

The mirrors were capsule objects halved and stretched. The front visor was a sphere halved and placed in a hypernurb then moulded by extruding outer faces. The grips and handlebars are cylinders, the brake lever was a cube placed in a hypernurb and then shaped. The air intake is a cube placed in a hypernurb and shaped. The chain sprocket is a tube and the chain is basically tubes again apart from the joining links which are cubes and cylinders for the rivets.

These are taken from the bike in their exact position. The seat is a cube placed in a hypernurb. The dials are tubes and the cylinder in the middle is supposed to be the fuel cap.

I used this trademark for my texture.

This was my first colour scheme.

I tried a different colour and played about with the trademark. I quite liked the green colour and decided on a different colour scheme.
The floor is using a car paint material, colour champagne.
I had tried a 3 point light set up with also planes dotted around with a luminance material added. My final render has ambient occlusion on and also global illumination.
