First I chopped a stem and leaf from the source photo

Here I have started chopping out a single piece of wheat from the source photo using eraser tool after zooming in close.

Here further chopping is done and some of the pieces have been extended using the smudge and brush tools.

More chopping is done here and ready to extend more 'beards'.

Chopping is finished and single piece of bearded wheat is ready to use in image.

The bearded wheat top is merged onto the stem and leaf, then duplicated many times, many of these being rotated for opposite side of 'bundle'.

With the brush tool, lines are made to 'bind' bundle together.

A bow is created using the brush tool or as I did, using my pen and tablet. Vary the color and use burn tool to shadow it.

Bunch of wheat is now placed over the bride's hands and opacity is reduced until hands show through for trimming.

Now the hand has been cut out with eraser tool. Opacity of wheat is brought back to 100%

I decided to extend the bow where the ends hang down. The brush tool was used, then shadows done with burn tool.

Brown and blue filters are added over entire merged entry. Levels can be changed as you like, but these are both app. 50%

Some directional light is added (filter/render) behind the window area to make a backlight effect.
