I used the magic wand (and the pen tool in some places) to select then mask out the tower, duplicated and transformed the masked out version to get the the tower you see.

using some parts of the sourced i started to build the body of the dragon.

Continued with building the body (I used the warp and liquify tools quite a lot)..

using the selected part i built the claws and the scales (or whatever those are) on the tail.

Using the selected part of the source and a bit of another iguana (unfortunately the part needed here for the wings was too blurry in the source so i had to find an alternative) i built the wings. Again a lot of warping and liquifying.

Cutting apart the head and then rebuilding it I made the dragons head.

started to mask out the flames.
step 8 of 11
finished masking out the flames, added the masked out flames (4 times) and started to change some colors.

added shadows.

Added background.

Changed the color of the background, worked on details, added smoke coming out of his nose (hardly visible) and worked some more on other details.
