I began by opening a sphere shape.

I added 2 resized, reshaped and flattened cylinders for eyes.

I painted the eyes black using the paint tool then added hair for the beard.

I added an eye patch using the paint tool

I made the hat by using the neck tool on a cylinder and painted it with the paint tool then formed a mouth using a flattened torus shape

I added a body shape then used then used the neck tool on 2 cylinders for the weapon handle and the cuff of the hook. Then made the feet out of 2 resized spheres

I formed the hook shape using the bend tool on a resized cylinder then painted the face yellow. I then reshaped the mouth with the freestyle draw tool.

I painted the hook and the weapon gold using the paint tool.

I added a ship background then changed the sea to sand using photoshop.
