step 1 of 4

Selected the parts i wanted to make silver, multiply a couple of times and apply filters (one to screen and then an overly of a silver colour).

Creation of Tap Shoes: Step 1

step 2 of 4

Cut out the images of the tap and handle and pasted/blended them onto the shoe image.

Creation of Tap Shoes: Step 2

step 3 of 4

Added a hue/saturation layer to make the tap look more like the silver colour of the shoe and reduced the colour.

Took a section or the shoe's tartan, and layed this over the handle (which i desaturated first). Set it to overlay, bloated the larger part slightly, and used dodge/burn to give it a 3d look.

Creation of Tap Shoes: Step 3

step 4 of 4

Just added a black 'hole' and dodged, burnt in and around the edge to give it a bit of depth.

And that's just about it.
