A Work in Progress: Urban Snowboard

This "step-by-step" is not meant to be extremely detailed to the point you'll be able to create the exact photo-manipulation, but it's to show you the process of the making :)

Use the Pen Tool to "Vectorize" The two pictures.
I slightly altered the snowboarder's pose (mainly the arms) to give it a more distinct shape. Now it's a Silhouette!!
Play with the background's opacity!

Alright, a lot of things are going on here. Basically, just overlap some textures. Try Changing the brightness/contrast, to get a clean look, and if you're not satisfied, you can always use the Pen Tool once again. Place those layers under the one with the snowboarder! (Pen Tool's your best friend.)

At last, when you're satisfied with the whole design, give it a bit of color! I've created my own gradient and applied it on top! Then, use different layer blending modes to achieve different effects! Try it out!
