Started by making the nest using the dune grass brush made several layers and added some blending e.g bevel.

Next I made a beak for the mother bird and a worm. I gave the worm a pattern overlay and inner shadow to give it more of a worm look.

Next came the baby birds. I drew one with the pen tool then colored it, gave it a pattern overlay and duplicated and repositioned them to get several birds.

Then came the human head, again I used the pen tool for his outline then colored him and used the burn tool to finish him off. I then made some tree branches with leaves and blurred them for the background.
