A Work in Progress: Winter Solstice

Watercolor brushes, low transparency, layer after layer of stripes.

Same thing for snow...important to change the size and type of brush frequently.

Began drawing trees with dry media brushes. When I was able to follow a line closely, the tree became fatter and I worked on these trees more than the others.

Kept building each layer up so that it became more and more opaque.

Worked on crow. Used basic paintbrush and eraser to create a silhouette. Duplicated it and then worked on each bird separately adding electric blue, purples, and the beak and eye.
