Cut out the building and duplicated, warped and generally used the transform tool a lot.

From the shape I was happy with I formed a "shell" in an inside layer and an outside layer. One caging in the other.

10 of these caged pieces went together to create the semicircle.

Duplicate, flip, merge.

This was my first abstract attempt for this contest, it became the background on the piece I decided to submit.
