this is my bryce set-up screen, showing a wireframe view of my objects. i have highlighted the alien antennae, an object i downloaded from renderosity.com

i have 4 radial lights, being that i used a black background with low light....you can see two highlighted here, the other two are placed near the antennae for definition.

the kugel spheres are part of the antennae, i shouldn't have highlighted them, the only sphere i've incorporated is the large one, and i used an earth mat with very slight transparency

added a sphere with outer glow and bevel to the antennae

added orb at the end...

duplicated my orb (which is a circular fill with bevel) and copied over to other antennae

did the same with ornamental sphere

duplicated my bottom layer and cut out the earth, then added Luce light filter, layered on hard ligh with lowered opacity

selected earth, copied, darkened hue, and layered on darken on lowred opacity

created a ring, added inner glow and distorted

copied earth again, lowered fill all the way, added outer glow

used brushes from "Deep Space" by ~Scully7491 to create a black hole....

made a thin rectangular fill, added gaussian blur, used as center light

used brushes from "Space Light Brushes for Photoshop" to create upward stream...
