This first step shows that the original idea came from one of my own photographs. This was the shot that inspired the idea.

I started by stretching some shapes into a usable form for the bird.

Time to start using the photo as a template. This is where I started using liquify and free transform on parts.

Basically this is the final assembly of the hummingbird with a first coloring for the backround.

Time to add detail and flowers for the hummingbird to be attracted to. LOTS of liquify and free transform went on here.
