Created a circle and painted it to look spherical.

I used the pen tool to cut out parts of the sphere.

Used the cut circle for the Earth image. I also added some shadows and an overall color adjustment.

Used the cloud filter for the sky.

Added colors using a color brush. Everything was done in photoshop.
