placed image "Dramatic Sky" - I by *MattTheSamurai at deviantart.com...stretched to fit, and on another layer, i used "Decay Brushes" by ~Leichnam at deviantart.com and "Shatter v2 -New-" brushes by =archaii at devianart.com to create the crack in the sky, then i blended on darken and merged.

i selected the white inner area of the crack, and cut it out of my sky background, leaving a black fill underneath

again, i selected the white inner layer, copied, and cloned some more cloud color in, then i selected small pieces from that, which i gave a drop shadow and bevel to, to create the shattered pieces...

masked out little Jordan from "Reaching" by ~DawnAllynnStock at deviantart.com....duplicated layer, blurred, blended, then gave a light filter to the bottom layer....
