step 1 of 8

i cut out pieces from the wood and warped, added bevel and emboss.....used these pieces to shape and create bone structure.....

and some more....by creating various designs and re-warping, i got a nice variety of pieces to work with...

layered pieces, duplicated, warped.....when everything was where i wanted, i merged them all together, and added a reddish orange omni blended on darken.....

i copied the wood i cut out earlier, flipped, merged, then did the same vertically....

i added luce light filter, then blurred heavily for soft background color....

created another layer, filled with designs from "Fractal Brushes Set" by ~Mark-S on deviantart.com, reduced opacity of color layer to create a semi visible background
