A Work in Progress: Blue Heron

First you need to figure out where you want to place the head and the body, then add some lines on where some details will go.

step 2 of 5

Keep adding detail slowly, study the picture to ensure you are keeping it in proportion and it is becoming the actual bird you are intending to draw.

slowly filling in detail and the bird is becoming more fully developed.

step 4 of 5

while still adding detail, you can see that I am also adding shading, using line and cross hatch in places

step 5 of 5

the Heron is basically done, need to go over it with charcoal, alter the shading some do some smoothing and light shading with a tortillon.
