Layered the zebras in four different directions. These are given some opacity so you can see both picture.

So put those together and put the blend mode to Lighten. It makes a comparable mess.

Here I made two layers blend using erase and clone.

And the same with these two.

And wala. with a little more touch up it looks like hide ribbons.
