step 6 of 9

The frog was dropped into the pic. The source pic layer was duplicated and the snapping turtle was merged with the background layer. The new source pic layer was selectively erased over the sunken part of the turtle.

step 7 of 9

The frog and his bright green shadow were selected and removed from their original photo. Then the shadow area was selected with the pen tool and deleted. While the shadow area was still selected, a color was picked from other shadows and sprayed into the mask. A gaussian blur of about 2 was applied.

step 8 of 9

I began to draw some subtle ripples with the brush tool and with the pen tool to show the frog's effect on the water flow.

Creation of Frog Legs Again?: Step 8

step 9 of 9

Some shadow was added by the turtle head in the water. I cropped off the extreme left side of the picture and maybe should have take more off. Some of the water ripples were cloned from the left side and made into a layer then added to the left area around the frog. The ripple layer was duplicated and flipped horizontally and placed on the other side of the frog, then softened a bit woth the eraser tool.
