new layer, paint a wood texture over stairs, turn direction of texture as needed, erase where needed, bring opacity of layer down

new layer, paint a light skin color over the skin, erase where needed, bring layer opactiy down

duplicate background layer, bring to front, adjust the lightness to make it brighter, erase everywhere but shirt and cap, bring layer opacity down.

duplicate background layer, bring to front, adjust color to bring more blue out, erase everywhere but dress, bring layer opacity down.

paste the picture, resize, deform, duplicate and layer blend luminance for one and opacity down to 10 for the other
step 9 of 9
new layer, paint white over picture, bring opacity down. duplicate, bring brightness down so it is black, add gaussion blur and bring layer behind the other picture layers
