A Work in Progress: Crab Man

The source crab was masked and cut out piece by piece using quick mask with different RGB-channels as guideline.

The parts was then rotated, and resized to some human like form, but still with its own basic characteristics. The parts was then erased togheter with a light airbrush eraser.

The stomach was the only improvised addition. It was is made by the eye holder thingys (?). Copied, rotated, and blended them to avoid them being to continuous.

Self-shadows was then added to make some parts emerge more from the body. It turned out to trace the shadows exactly right, but at least it got some depth.

The background was then added after some time finding a background that wouldn't consume the foreground to much. The background was then blurred some.

Some color/contrast adjustments, and so on, was then made to make them fit together better.

That's it.
