Cropped the eye out then added as layer onto flower.

Free transformed eye for size and warp to fill out inside.

Then used large faded eraser to smooth around the eye for smoother look

step 2 of 6

Changed mode to grayscale

Creation of Eye Bloom: Step 2

step 3 of 6

Changed mode back to RGB.

Made each color of petals a seperate layer. (some with overlay and others with color as the layer blending mode - depending on the look of the color.)

After each layer I went to image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation

Here I checked the "colorize" box and played with the hue and saturation for each color/layer till I was satisfied with the look

Creation of Eye Bloom: Step 3

step 4 of 6

At this point I decided I wanted to colorize the background, so I simply pasted the flower back over top of what I already had, changed the blend to color and removed all the yellow petals

Creation of Eye Bloom: Step 4

step 5 of 6

I then made a new layer and colored over the eye and repeated the steps used for the petals

Image>adjustments>hue/saturation

I clicked colorize and adjusted the hue and saturation until I was satisfied with the color

Creation of Eye Bloom: Step 5

step 6 of 6

Finally view all the layers together and I have my finished product
