First of all I masked and cut out the keys and changed the colors to make look more like worn out gold.
I then made a layer with binary 01101001-rubbish. I then pasted the clipboard keys onto a quick-mask. I then used the quick masks selection to cut out some of the binary layer.

The back key on the image was then erased gradient transparent using the gradient tool on a quick mask. Basic green contours was then made by hand.

The background was made by playing around with the binary 010100 layer - twisting it, blur it, differential cloud it. I finally overlayed it with the binary layer, again, making text appear better. The background was then darkened to a more suitable level.
