Now referring to the ref image with the pen tool drew a box around the painting and lines like this...

Now clearing the guides and in a new layer stroking the path with a 100% opacity hard brush 1 px...

Now selecting a piece selection via the magic wand from the stroked layer...

Now going to the painting layer and doing a cut paste... I get this...

Now doing all the steps for the pieces and doing a layer style of bevel and emboss as shown in the ss...

Now rearranging all the pieces as show in the ss...

Now making a layer beneath the merged pieces and filling the white spaces...
step 11 of 11
Now burning the edges of the pieces...
