using photoshop put contest image in a larger canvas document leaving the main image on top.

Go through vacation photo's find one that you want to use. :) paste it into the document. keep it towards the bottom.

Find another beach photo so you can add some sand in the not filled parts.

using the masking layers mask out what you don't want to see. in this case the sky and water from vacation photo's

re paste photo 2 with the smaller rocks and use the sky to go over the main image's sky line.
the set blend mode to screen.
oh yeah remove the parts you don't want by selecting and deleting!
