Remove the background from the source image, then duplicate the acorn and flip horizontal and change the blend mode of the duplicated acorn to multiply. It should look like this.

Duplicate this image. This will be the eyes. Flip horizontal, enlarge a single acorn and position it like in this image and place the two eyes into place. Then on the first eye use the clone stamp tool, go back to the enlarged acorn and clone only the amount of the eye you want shown, then repeat this process for the other eye.
step 3 of 4
Next I used the center out of one of the eyes for the nose and I used the burn tool to make the nose holes and shading around the nose.
step 4 of 4
Last I used one of the eyes and the clone stamp tool minus the center for the beard. To darken the mouth I used the burn tool. Thats it.
