First we draw just our guide lines for the flower stalks, the ones for the buds. It will allow us to stay in the direction we want our flowers to go.
we begin to fill in the buds, small leaves and the one at the bottom. Try to keep them with slight variations, going with the rule that nothing is identical.
add the small fern, draw it lightly, for when we place our lily later.
we begin to add our bloomed flowers, the petals are sort of ragged edged, a better word may be ruffled.
Still fill in the flowers, saving the daisies and lily for last.
add the detail into the top flowers, the lines and the stamens.
Finish drawing your flower bouquet, make sure you fill in the detail, use very few line shading, the shading will be done after the image is finished.
Ink in your drawing, make sure not to smear the ink, use a blank piece of paper between your hand and the drawing.
We are going to color the flowers with colored pencils, for shadow area use a darker color then the one you will use for the lighter areas of the petals, the two shades will give you a shaded effect, for black areas, use the charcoal pencil, like the center of some of the flowers. You will see how by looking at the drawing. The colors you use are up to you, we all have our favorite colored flowers. Don't forget to sign and date your drawing, looking back at it later, it can be used to show you how you progress in learning to draw.
