Whether you’re photographing people, a sporting event, or other subject, sometimes you need to take many photos to get that one “perfect†shot. Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 3.0 lets you organize multiple photos of the same subject in a stack, so that you have easy access to the photos but do not clutter the Photo Browser with rows and rows of nearly identical thumbnails. Photoshop Elements also lets you make your favorite photo in a series the topmost image in the stack.

The Layers panel in Fireworks CS4 is integral to the design process. This powerful panel of useful features makes it possible for you to control the visibility, locking status, stacking order, and overall organization of your document. But that just scratches the surface of this part of Fireworks because the Layers panel also allows you to share common elements between layers, control slices that will be exported as individual image files. The Layers panel is also the area where you can set the level of opacity and add blend modes to create unique effects.

Web developers and designers are always striving to achieve pixel-perfect accuracy. Fireworks CS4 includes new layout tools that offer many new capabilities for aligning, measuring, and laying out the elements in your document.
This section describes how to add, hide, and clear guides and how you can set the new consolidated guide and grid preferences. We show you how to use the new guide measurements so you can quickly find the dimensions for a particular area of your design. I also cover two features that are brand new to Fireworks CS4: Smart Guides and tooltips.
