Step 1
Open Illustrator.
Go to File> New.
Create a new document.
The file size is of your choice.
Here I have chosen 2500×2500 pixels of 300 ppi resolution.
The mode I chose is CMYK ( The CMYK option is chosen for printing purpose. ).
Step 2
Type in the text using the color 49002A .
I have used COMFORTAA font which can be downloaded here http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/Comfortaa
Step 3
Now go to Effect > 3D > Extrude and Bevel
Apply the values as shown below.
Step 4
This is the image you get after we apply the extrude and bevel effect.
Now name this layer as "3d layer".
Step 5
Now duplicate this 2012 “3-d” layer .
Now using the up arrow.key, move this duplicated layer.
Change the color of this duplicated text layer to a chocolate-brown color as shown .
After applying the above effects, you get this image.
Step 6
Now duplicate this chocolate-colored text layer
Move it a little using the up arrow key .
Change the color of this text layer to red .
You will get this image after applying these effects.
Step 7
Overall you can see that there are 3 text layers one above the other of 3 different colors.
We have completed creating the 3D text effect.
Now add a gradient below the text layers as shown.
This can be done by drawing a rectangle below all layers and selecting the gradient as shown.
This gradient is a default one present in the gradient editor.
Step 8
Save this image that we created.
Now open it in photoshop.
In the next few steps, we will learn how to make the image more vibrant and beautiful.
Select a hard round brush and choose the brush settings as shown.
Shape Dynamics :
Size jitter: 59 %
fade 25
Scattering 785%
fade 25
count 1
count jitter: fade 25
Transfer
Opacity fade 25
Flow jitter fade 25
Create a new layer.
Paint using white color with these brush settings enabled.
Step 9
Apply outer glow and color overlay to this layer.
Color overlay :
Blend mode - saturation - color c63232
Outer glow :
Blend mode - screen- Opacity 75%, noise-0
color f79d9d
technique - softer
spread - 0
size - 114 px
Step 10
After applying outer glow and color overlay, set this layer’s
blending mode to overlay .
We have now created a dots(bokeh) abstract background.
You will get this image after applying these effects.
Step 11
Duplicate this “dots” (bokeh texture) layer several times and arrange in different positions in the image.
Now reduce the duplicated layer’s opacity to 32 %.
Step 12
Create a new layer. Paint the shadow below the text using a dark red color.
Step 13
Create a new layer.
Set the blending mode of this layer to soft light.
Now paint with black brush of low opacity on the image except on the text area.
Step 14
Create a new layer. Paint again in a similar way.
Step 15
As we want to focus more on the text area, we apply a black and white gradient to this layer.
The settings are as shown below.
Step 16
Now create a new layer with blending mode set to soft light .
Paint with white soft brush of low opacity on the area shown.
Step 17
Apply color balance .
Apply the values as shown below.
Midtones +57 +31 +97
Highlights -9 -8 +61
Shadows +65 -33 -33
Step 18
This is the final image we get. Hope you enjoyed reading!
