Start with a white 1024x849 dokument and color the background by drawing a gradient from the bottom to the top. I used #818181 as foreground color and #ebebeb as background color. This gives the image a nice depth.
Cut out the apple using what ever method you like. I used a medium-hard brush at around 80% hardness to do it.
Use the following blending option to give the apple a shadow. Then If you like you can use the dodge tool to highlight the opposite side of the shadow. I did so with a size 100 soft brush at around 10% exposure, midtones.
Take the zipper image, copy the right side and paste it over the left side and flip it horisontally. And using a very small brush, cut out the zipper from the fabric. After that use liquify and warp to increase the gap if you like. To give the zipper a little shadow, go to blending options, drop shadow and put the following settings and press ok:
Blend mode: Normal
Create a new layer with the orange picture, move the zipper layer on top of this layer and go back to the orange layer. Press "q" to enter quick mask mode" and paint the inside the gap of the zipper with a small black brush. When you're finished press "q" again, press delete and you should now have the orange inside the gap.
Now we are going to start with the wrinkles on the apple. Take the purple fabric picture and desaturate it. Erase some parts on the sides with a soft brush and put a dark green overlay in the blending options and then change the blending mode on the layer to soft light.
Take the wrinkles and place them next to the zipper. And by using warp, transform the wrinkles so they follow outside the zipper. Use a soft brush to erase the parts you are unhappy with. Your image should look something like this so far.
Create a new group in the layers panel and put all layers but the background inside. Dublicate this group and hide the first group. Now press ctrl+shift+e to merge all visible layers, or go to Layer/Merge visible. Make the first group visible again. Go back to the merged image and flip the image vertically and place it under the first apple.
Pick a soft size 250 eraser brush with 30% opacity and start to erase a bit on the bottom apple, which will be a reflection of the upper apple. Erase untill your result look something like this:
