I like this photograph because I find it to be emotion grabbing. We cannot help but get involved in the thoughts of that one soldier who is remembering something, something that sparks our imagination. I also like the DOF you used with softening the other two yet making them seen, they too are remembering. You have composed them to the side giving plenty of space at the right. I wonder had you cropped a bit tighter if our engagement with them would have proven to be even stronger than it is right now. Lovely. Top marks.

I too often use levels. Did you know that it is better to underexpose an image for then you can bring back detail easier. I don't know anything about Flash functions....only work in PS, Affinity, Topaz, Nik. and probably more. Thanks.

Poor wee thing looks terrified of you. How did you get so close and so low...that is really a good photograph. My husband just brought me a cup of coffee and looked at this picture and said "hey, that is very good" so there you have two reviews for the price of one. It is so sharp we could cut ourselves on it. Top notch.

Did you use a high pass filter on this? If so, at what percentage. It is very sharp without being overcooked and how brilliant that he is looking straight at that lens you have. Composition is centered.

What a great idea and title...ha, I like it. Those sprinkles of sand make this foot look rather radiant, well perhaps that is a bit strong, if not radiant then certainly dressed to kill. Nice and sharp, good colour saturation and it looks almost Xmassy...

An absolutely lovely photograph with a story to boot. I love the humble feel of this church (something that the arrogant and show-offy citadels of Europe have too much of). You have composed it nicely to the side and that little boat is the icing on this well-baked cake. Good dof used and colour saturation is natural. Just nice through and through.

Thanks I saw some interesting little videos with little yellow babies running around webs.

I googled Araneus diadematus, but they don't look the same, do they change so much as they mature?

They're such a pretty colour, do you know what type of spider they are?

Almost look like sweets,but bet you would not want to eat these.

Oh ICK and double ICK. I bet one tiny sting and we are dead within 15 minutes. A wonderful photograph really jolts the viewer into looking and reacting! ICK.
