For me this picture does not represent a beginning, these are just open flowers...
Okay, but they did JUST come up.
They are among the first spring flowers in northern hemisphere
I just wanted to say that a flower still closed would have better matched about this contest.

This really speaks of new beginnings. The fact you had to lay down on your stomach to get this shot, so close to the ground propels it to the top of the class. Your saturation and colour is natural and the blurred foreground really engages the viewer to look inward. Just lovely, a pleasure to study.
PS I was in some garlic fields yesterday and thanks to this shot I tried your technique, so special thank you for inspiring me with your image.
