It may be "inflicted" but the definition of affliction is "the cause of persistent pain or distress" I'd say having your hands sewn together would cause persistent distress And besides every one of the entries in here have been "inflicted" at some point whether or not it was intentional Reply »

this shot at least, is very artistic. I still do not know about the infliction, affliction thing, but it is way above some of the 'snap' entries we have in this contest..........not much artistic about some of them at all!! Reply »

Either it is on theme or off theme, artistry has nothing to do with that. If this is on theme, then it opens the door to a multitude of artistic options not included in the contest description and you cannot in turn say that those entries are off theme. I used to volunteer at a friend's haunted house and I did this, but with needles and pins. I also did glass by breaking a tape dispenser and using latex to "glue" it on my face to make it look like glass. Reply »
