Get Blender here for free. You can make anything you like, as long as it's created in Blender... clearly show all steps in the process.

itgik: You may not be able to learn it completely in 2 weeks but I'm pretty sure not one here really uses it so thought it would be a good leveller. I know myself I have only ever loaded blender once so am looking forward to the challenge. ( 5 years and 3401 days ago )

downoffthedragon: I've been using blender for a few months. I can't afford anything else. But I'm not that great at it. There are a TON of tutorials out there. And if you can use any other 3D program, you can use blender. But I guess I could be wrong because I've never tried any other program! ( 5 years and 3401 days ago )

dka120: I can see your idea itgik, and I admit it's tempting. Blender has good capabilities for being completely free. But in the end I don't think there will be that many entries. I didn't even know anyone using it. It takes way too long adapt to a new software. I'm already struggling with converting to 3DSMax. Combine that with the time it usually takes to model/texture/setup/tweak/render a scene on only two weeks.... naah. I'll take this as an week of 3D instead!

kyricom: Well... I've never done any 3D in my life and I downloaded this to give it a try. The program seems pretty cool, but the instructions SUCK! I'll be looking for tutorials, but don't know if I'll get anything done or not ( 5 years and 3398 days ago )

wlado: Uhhh.... like... Go to hell man, I'm NOT gonna learn another 3D program! It took me a lot to adjust to 3ds Max (since we've been using Maya in school), now you expect me to learn a completely new program in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS?! No thanks, I think I'd rather LIVE than spend all that time on PC learning it since the program is hard to use, at least to me.

I made this swirly ball using this tutorial:http://blendermama.com/twirly-sphere-modelling.html

I made a pillar out of a cylindar and flattened cubes, stacked.

Made adjustments to the ball in Ray Mirror and Ray Transparency. Changed the colors of the world.

Placed the default light inside of the ball. Added a sun lamp, colored it yellow and increased the intensity to 1.58.

Added marble texture and made adjustments to the texture on the base. Added color. (5 years and 3386 days ago)
