author, if you were going for a cut and paste look you may want to add a gentle drop shadow below each section to give it more of that type of look (simple Trompe-l'œil) also cropping the images perfectly square (90 degree) to give a bit of consistency would make it more balanced IMHO, nice idea and good luck (Photoshop contests seem to demand a bit more work for higher scores, but I commend you for your effort)
If you want to keep the cloud render background...you could possibly enlarge it considerably and then blur the _ _ _ _ out of it. Sorry...I mean blur it a lot.
Agreed, and try to give the edges of the skull some thickness...give 'em a slight blur, too.
