I agree with the author. The effect to me wouldn't have been as strong if the paper wasn't crumbled. I think the image is great and it's a great idea.

(5 years and 2782 days ago)Love the bokeh. The crumpled paper is a bit contrived looking and takes away from the overall strength of the image, as does the strike through lines on some of the words, which make no sense to the image.
