Nice concept, but i think it would look better if you loose the 'posteredges' effect. The colors work well to evoke the loneliness feeling. To strengthen that, you could also work on the relative sizes and positioning of the statue and the background.

Creating a convinging fire with photoshop is not easy. You did reasonably well. The smoke looks good. I should have opted for one or two large parts instead of several small patches of fire. Good work on the lights.

From the technical point of view this is a very good image. It looks believable. I think it would attract more attention when the elements in the image were more related to each other. e.g. the book title could be 'How to paint leaves'.

Good idea. Bars and hinches look good. Only the perspective of the doors doesn't match that of the clock. If you would take the doors as reference for determining the vanishing point, the clock could never appear as a normal circle.

Nice idea. I like the work on the slots for the ball. Only, somewhere between step 8 and the final image, the axis got disconnected from the spokes. It now seems to float. It would be nice if could correct the numbers. The perspective for some of the numbers is off. Apart from that: good job.
