Edit: Yup, they are casting reflection not shadow... I saw the source in full resolution and surprisingly no dominant shadow of the game piece on the game board... Rather there are it's reflection... So you might as well try adding light reflection to the stone pieces.. The hand has a shadow though...

To the left of his tail and to the right of his feet, the wires are disjointed... Not that noticible in small size( unless the viewer is hawkeyes), but is more prominent in high res... Fix that small glitch and this image will shine more... This is rather a small flaw, but it ought to be fixed... Apart from that cool image

Way too much detail that you made the turtle or durtle vanish to oblivion... Even in high res even though the detail is amazing, but it looks like burned wood to me... I will hold to my vote... This could be really a great entry if durtle was more distinct... Hope you can alter or edit it a bit...

Edit: Well I know every artist has his or her own style... Dark in your case... But here if you haven't mention about turtle or durtle in your defination, I would have never guess it was a turtle or durtle...

Also my moniter calibration is okay... And I also check in high res... I also said it's wasn't dark, but that durtle looked like burned wood... Anyways looks like you won't change anything and I respect that... Good luck for the contest...

Looks a bit better now... I do admit saving the unflattened image as a jpeg image... Or flattening the image and then saving it as jpeg... Results in a wee different image( not much difference though or I think my monitor is really whacked lol)

Anyways next time you wanna save it as flattened image, make a copy... Well coloring using color and hue/sat adjustment layer loses some details but it is really flexible and can be tweaked on the fly...
